Villiera Tradition Brut

This "Methode Cap Classique" (bottle fermented sparkling wine) is a blend of red and white grapes displaying the full, balanced yeasty complexity synonymous with a wine made in this style. The wine retains its fresh racy zestiness that is a result of crisp acidity and rich fruit.

Joyful, rich copper colour and fine lazy bubbles. The unique rich, fruity character of Pinotage combines with the complexity of Pinot Noir and the elegance of Chardonnay. The extended period sur lie ensures the extra yeasty dimension.

Villiera The Clan 2015

Intensely perfumed with dark berry fruit, liquorice, violets and underlying tobacco, spice and graphite. It is full bodied with ripe succulent tannins and great length. The wine is complemented by a small percentage of Carignan, which freshens the wine, improving drinkability while creating a point of difference.

We believe that at this level the consumer is entitled to more complexity, more interest and more terroir character, not just a brasher version of a cheaper wine. The wine must have intensity of flavour, great structure and texture, but above all the ability to mature. The wine has a deep red colour with rich red berry aromas and a good tannin structure with intense spicy undertones penetrated by hints of vanilla and tobacco.

Villiera Down to Earth White 2009

This Down to Earth White demonstrates the art of blending. It was created by drawing on years of experience with blending Sauvignon Blanc. To improve complexity we required an additional component and Semillon was the obvious choice. After careful attention to blending these components we achieved the required result, with fresh gooseberries and passion fruit from the Sauvignon Blanc. The Semillon contributes the more herbaceous, grassy character as well as complexity to the palate. The wine is balanced with good length, but above all it makes you reach for another glass.
In the production process we limited the use of additives and avoided all animal products resulting in a wine that is suitable for vegetarians.

After careful attention to blending these components we achieved the required result lots of ripe tropical flavours and richness from the Chenin Blanc, with fresh gooseberries and passion fruit from the Sauvignon Blanc. The Semillon contributes the more herbaceous, grassy character as well as complexity to the palate. The wine is balanced with good length, but above all it makes you reach for another glass.
In the production process we limited the use of additives and avoided all animal products resulting in a wine that is suitable for vegetarians

The colour of the wine is a brilliant red. The aroma shows hints of cedarwood and vanilla with attractive dark berry fruit. On the palate the wine is rich and full with soft tannins and good acidity. Villiera Inspiration 2006

This botrytis infected noble late harvest Chenin Blanc has a brilliant golden appearance. It is intensely fragrant with hints of honey, raisins, marmalade and nuts penetrating the aroma. On the palate it is rich and sweet, but with sufficient acid to balance and it lingers forever.

Villiera Merlot/Pinotage 1999

The wine demonstrates an attractive deep red colour with forthcoming aromas of berry fruit and spice. The oak gently penetrates the bouquet with hint of vanilla and tobacco. On the palate the wine is well balanced with soft tannins and a rich long finish. Although the wine can be enjoyed now it has the potential te keep for 7 to 8 years.

Villiera Rhine Riesling 1999

Due to ideal conditions prevailing in 1999 for a late harvested Rhine Riesling, we picked some of the fruit late with some botrytis influence. The result is a richn aromatic Rhine Riesling with exellent maturation potential. There is a richness on the nose with spicy and floral aromas. Made in a drier style than previous years.

The wine is refreshing and elegant with a good balance. Although very attractive in its youth, our 1999 Sauvignon Blanc can be kept for a further 2 to 3 years. It can be enjoyed alone or as an accompaniment to good food.

This 1996 Sauvignon Blanc has outspoken aromas of green peppers & dusty and stalky, which lead one on to a palate which is very dry. Tangy, lively green pepper flavours with pleasing roundness in contrast to some earlier leaner versions & a reflection of changing tastes.

This Gewürztraminer is typically aromatic with intense lychee character and floral - rose petal - undertones. It is rich and ripe with a soft off-dry finish ensuring good balance.

Domaine Grier Grenache 2013

The wine shows classic red berry fruit and cherries with a hint of spice and underlying vanilla chocolate. The rich soft mouth feel is typical of Grenache but it is well structured ensuring maturation potential.

Villiera Stand Alone Gamay Noir 2019
